21 hasn’t been quite that innovative. The creative energy that was expanding everyone’s minds in 2020 has been put into all the projects it needed to be put into. As a result, I feel the stagnant energy and boredom shining through.
I’ve been reminded again and again over the last few days how easy it is to disassociate from people we don’t know. It’s easy to think that people we don’t know don’t have any issues or pain, and on an even farther scale, that they are actually somehow evil or bad. The thing is, we are all human. We all go through this thing called life, and not a single person has it easy. We are all here to learn and grow and figure out what the meaning is for each of us. No one has the right to determine that for anyone else.

For a quick summary, the story centers around Nora, a woman in her 30’s who feels dejected by most of the people in her life, and feels woefully inadequate and isn’t sure if she has turned down several possible promising trajectories her life could have taken based on her particular hobbies and studies. At some point, she finds herself in the Midnight Library, which allows her to see what would have happened in life if she had followed those other paths, and even some more mundane choices she could have made. I believe that the book’s goal is to point out to us that we can question “what if I had done it this way?” for the rest of our lives, but if we aren’t content to live in the present moment, and create and nurture our most important relationships, life isn’t worth living.
Wonder is a theme word that has come up for me lately. It is such a joyous word, and I want to try and remember to create and approach new and old situations with a sense of wonder. This creates a sense of open-ness and expansion in the mind, instead of constriction. It opens your mind up to new possibilities, allowing it to be creative with new solutions and new ways of looking at the same problem.
The most confusion in the Myers Briggs typing indicator, is typically the second letter of the four-letter types, N or S; intuition or sensing. A lot of times people use both, and are unsure which they use more of, and more often than not, I have found that this letter preference is hardest for opposite types to be accepting of, and accommodating of.
The topic of impatience has come up a lot for me lately, and not to mention, it was a recent topic in Lauren Sapala’s most recent class called The Joyful Writer. I never thought of myself as an impatient person, in fact, I had been complimented on my extreme patience and low maintenance in the past. But I recently realized that while I have patience for other people, I do not have patience with myself. In fact, I was so caught up in being impatient with myself and feeling like I was running out of time all the time, that was what was causing issues in my closest relationships.
Does loud music overwhelm you? Do you get stressed by loud noises or a lot of external stimuli? Do things like roller coasters actually feel painful instead of fun? Do you feel emotions very deeply? Do certain foods affect you more than they seems to affect other people? Do you ever get called “too sensitive”? If any of these apply to you, or other similar things, you may be a highly sensitive person, like me.
Everyone uses all eight letters of the MBTI. However, everyone also has a natural preference for one letter over the other, which makes up your four-letter type. When we use our preference letter that is not natural to us too often, this is what causes us stress. For example, an introvert who is in sales as a career may experience stress throughout the day, or exhaustion at the end of a long day, in which they had to speak and outwardly express themselves to many individuals. This does mean the introvert is not good at sales, it just means that they are living outside of their normal preference letter.
I have been reading the book “Power versus Force” by David Hawkins, and it is fantastic. It’s an odd transition from muscle testing to the metaphysical, but it is based on scientific testing for proof and it is powerful. The book teaches that every person has their own level of energy calibration. Some people calibrate at a level of 500, which is love, and some calibrate at 50, which is shame. The highest that one can calibrate at is 1,000, and this level is called enlightenment, and only several people over the course of the universe have calibrated at that level; think Gandhi or Jesus. There are many levels that one can calibrate in between those examples, but the point is that we all have an energy calibration that we exist in and base our realities in.
I like to call this conundrum manifestation snapback. It’s when we are going along smoothly with our new hopes and dreams, and we’ve put it all out there to the universe (thank you Universe for everything you are doing for me!) and then suddenly, something happens that makes you think “what the actual f***?”
